Course Outline and Content:
This is the UK’s first non branded, impartial foundation bra fitting training course that uses a tape measure to help beginners get a starting point towards achieving a good fitting bra. The course has been running successfully for 12 years and continues to run via Covid – 19 pandemic but in a Virtual way. Please see our Virtual foundation bra fitting course.

This course is run by Alison Hawkins who has over 25 years experience in bra developing and delivering bra fitting training courses across UK & Europe and is an introduction to anyone who needs to have achieve a basic fitting knowledge and enable them to fit and measure effectively and with confidence in a retail environment. The course will offer an insight into fitting numerous different bras effectively on various body types. We cover First bra, Nursing ,Maternity fittings as well as Swimwear and Shapewear. After a brief introduction, we will cover the history of the bra, leading into componentry and bra construction. Understanding different body shapes and the effects on choosing the right bra are covered in depth. “Real” models will be used for the measuring and fitting demonstration and also available on the day for practical experience. The candidate will receive a certificate upon completion of the course, along with a copy of the bra fitting manual that covers the course content, making it the ideal go to book whilst fitting method and confidence is gained.

At the end of the course the successful candidate received a completion certificates as well as a detailed bra fitting manual that summarises the course content, ideal for future reference.

Course Entry Requirements:
No previous fitting experience is required. This course is also ideal for someone who requires a refresher as they have either lost confidence or have not practiced bra fitting for a while.

Planned Outcomes for the Course:
By the end of the course I anticipate that you will have:
• An understanding and confidence to return to store to fit effectively.
• Achieved a fundamental knowledge of bra componentry
• Appreciate the history of the bra
• Be aware of different body types and shapes and fit accordingly
• Recognise different bras types, shape-wear, swimwear and nursing and maternity bras
