Online bra fitting courses now available from Intimate Apparel
Over the last 10 weeks Covid-19 has changed our lives beyond belief, everything that was considered the norm dissolved in a matter of a few days. How many times have we heard global pandemic and unprecedented times? These are indeed troubled times and during them, we have had to consider the future and how we adapt to a new “family” and work life.
Covid19 may be with us a while, so online bra fitting courses are the way forward
After the initial shock of the pandemic, we at Intimate Apparel Consultancy had to rethink our training processes for our bra fitting courses, as Covid-19 is here for a while and will continue to prevent a return to “normality” for a long time yet. We feel it’s especially important for those in the lingerie industry to continue to learn and evolve and continue to develop bra fitting skills and now more than in all the years that we have been in the industry, everyday bra fitting brings a challenge.
We need to keep training and learning, so we had to expand our bra fitting training options due to Covid 19 restrictions and Government guidelines. On the 27th May we hosted our very first virtual foundation bra fitting school. Training packs were sent out prior to the event and although we were slightly anxious before the meeting on how connectivity and interaction would be during the course of the day, as soon as our bra fitting trainees joined us on Zoom it felt like we were sitting in the same room.
Our new bra fitting training format worked extremely well online
The format for the morning session was the same as usual and after a short break we began our live bra fitting demonstrations. We used a female member of the household as a fit model and we showed how to measure and fit a customer for a bra, covering everything from fitting room etiquette to how to hold a tape measure. We had previously requested that our trainees had a family member to hand, so after showing the process of measuring, we could then watch and guide them through the bra fitting. This worked extremely well.
The connection on Zoom was amazing! Both attendees thoroughly enjoyed the bra fitting course and they are now off to practice practice, practice and we will do a follow up in a few weeks’ time.
