Intimate Apparel Consultancy have been offering Bra fitting courses to the industry for 13 years. Our training has always been up front and personal. Sometimes it’s training a room of one hundred people or it can be a bespoke course of just 1 to 1, either way face to face always felt like the best option. In all our years of training and offering bra fitting courses, we never thought we could or needed to do it any other way. Pre-Covid we were frequently asked to provide online bra fitting courses and training but we were always hesitant and backed away. How wrong were we!
Covid changed the way we offered training and our bra fitting courses
In the spring of a potentially extremely exciting year, we had lots of new projects in the pipeline and then Covid struck. All training stopped, but people were still contacting us to ask if we could help them anyway. We quickly realised that the lockdown was giving people time to refocus, retrain and to do all the things they never had time for before. With us all in lockdown we needed a new way of training.
We started offering online bra fitting courses via Zoom
With some head scratching and a bit of tweaking and the help of Zoom pro and Allison’s 19-year-old daughter (as our model) we launched our virtual foundation fitting school. We were amazed at the response and it has opened a whole new audience for our bra fitting courses.
We can now offer our online bra fitting courses to international clients
We’ve had ladies from Italy to Bengaluru join us, as well as our regular closer to home clientele. We enjoyed over 160% increase in demand for our bra fitting courses. Virtual training has enabled people to participate in our training without having to leave their own home, and even with restrictions lifted, people continue to prefer the online bra fitting courses.
Half-day online bra fitting courses online
Our virtual courses last 4 hours and run from 10-2pm. We cover all aspects of our face-to-face training on our online bra fitting courses. We encourage trainees to get a friend or family member to be with them in the afternoon session so that they can practice their fitting method under the careful eye of our trainer Allison Hawkins. We also have a live model ourselves to allow Allison to show hands-on measuring and fitting technique.
We are continuing online bra fitting courses into 2022
So, what’s new for us going forward into 2022? We feel passionate about offering live face-to-face bra fitting training still and from January we will be offering this back in our training room in Southend on Sea, Essex. For those who want to join us for a foundation bra fitting course or a post-surgery bra fitting course, this will also be available.
